Women Connect Event, Thursday, February 23
On Saturday, February 25th, Forsyth Medical Center will be a sponsor of the 2nd annual Women Connect Event at the Village Inn in Clemmons, NC. The event promotes awareness and patronage of women-owned businesses, relationship building between business owners and educational experiences for all women who attend. Last year's event had about 400 participants and this year they anticipate having even more. Attendance is free. You don't have to pre-register for the talks, but it is helpful if you pre-register for the workshops. To learn more, go to (www.wswomenconnect.com)
In the middle of the day, there will be several large group speakers, including our very own Dr. Satterwhite talking about gender differences between boys and girls. Some of you have heard this talk in other forums. It is fun, informative, and very popular! Please come if you can.
11-12 p.m.-"Relax!" Are you stressed? Come learn how stress affects your health and the importance of daily relaxation. Be prepared to leave refreshed after we practice some relaxation techniques.
12-1 p.m. "Bladder, Bladder, What's the Matter" Who is in control here; you or your bladder? Learn how what you eat or drink can trigger symptoms and other interesting bladder facts. Identify things you can do to improve your health and learn what resources are available to assist you with bladder issues.
1-2 p.m. Dr. Satterwhite Raising Boys, Raising Girls Why Gender Matters in Learning, in Risk taking, in Friendships and in Life. Ever wonder why your son just won't sit still to study or why girls avoid risk-taking? Come and learn how boys and girls are different and why gender matters in how you parent your children. Some of the lessons apply to grown up boys and girls as well!
2-3 p.m. Stop the Press Was that a Hot Flash? Come chat with our Menopause Nurse as she shares information about menopause including what your body is doing and what you can do about it. Learn tools that will help you work with your healthcare provider to not just survive, but to thrive through this time of life.
