Ticia M. Kribbs, MD

Personal Philosophy

I believe it is a privilege to glimpse into the lives of a growing family.  Each and every day holds a new lesson.   I hope to educate parents and help them find confidence in themselves and their ability to face the many challenges.  A Pediatrician should build a strong relationship not only with the parents but also with the child.  Knowing your child's newest nickname, love of cowboy boots, excitement about starting gymnastics, or apprehension about a new sibling all help to build a trusting relationship!  Getting to know your family is the most fun part of my job!

Education/Training

Medical School: Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina - 1997
Internship: Medical College of Georgia, Augusta - 1998
Residency: Children's Medical Center at the Medical College of Georgia, Brenner Children's Hospital, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center - 2000

Board Certification

Board Certified in Pediatrics

Special Interests

Newborn nursery care and the first month home from the hospital are the most challenging and stressful times!  I enjoy working with families to help make this transition as smooth as possible.

I enjoy perusing the latest parenting books and adding to our lobby library.  I also find the sheer number of baby and childhood products overwhelming and fascinating. I spend lots of time figuring out which products are helpful and which ones are not.

Personal Biography

Having been born and raised in Wilkesboro, NC is in my blood.  My mother is a retired teacher and my father owns a tire business called Myers Tire his father started nearly 40 years ago!   I finished high school in Durham at the NC School of Science and Mathematics in 1989.  From there I moved to Winston-Salem to start at Wake Forest.

I graduated from Wake Forest in 1992.  I intended to go to medical school from the start with a planned major in Biology.  But the Religion Department was filled with so many interesting professors and topics that I decided to double major in both Biology and Religion!

After graduation, I took a traditional path straight into medical school at Wake Forest (then Bowman Gray) where I met up with my now business partners, Bill Satterwhite and Gretchen Hoyle!  We graduated in 1997.  I left them for a while and did my first of the three years of pediatric training in Augusta, Georgia.  Winston-Salem was in my blood though, and I returned home in 1998 to finish my last two years here...along with Bill and Gretchen!

I finished my pediatrics training in 2000.  From there I joined another practice here in Winston-Salem.  It was a fun first two years out of training.  My journey led me to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, where I helped to put together the medical program prior to the camp's opening.  I was lured away in 2003 when Bill Satterwhite called me and told me about a new Forsyth Pediatrics office...in a little spot in Medical Park.

My story got much more interesting in 2005 when I married my long time love, Scott Kribbs.   Our first child was our black lab, Maggie Leigh.  She is now chased by our three year old son.  Dogs are great companions for imaginative three year olds.  Maggie is his best friend, space dog, horsey, and train passenger.  In August 2009, our family grew to include a tiny 9 POUND princess- now 13 pounds and growing.  Scott and I are currently spending the year navigating our new life with two children and loving each and every moment and mishap!

Our spare time used to be spent planting trees and building fences at our farm in Pilot Mountain where we have 20 cows and a guard donkey!  We now spend most of our time chasing our son and teaching him to fish on the farm.  We are looking forward to one day having chickens and an enormous garden on our farm.  We want our children to love nature and spend lots of time outdoors, just like their parents!
