Gretchen Hoyle

Gretchen Hoyle, MD

Professional Philosophy:

Parents know their children best.  My role as a Pediatrician is to provide and explain appropriate medical options for managing health problems and support caregivers in their choice among these options. 

Education/Training:

Undergrad: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, BS Biology, 1992
Medical School:  Wake Forest University School of Medicine, 1997
Residency:  WFU/Baptist Medical Center, 1997-2000
Chief Resident in Pediatrics:  Wake Forest School of Medicine, 2000-2001

Board Certification:

Board Certified in Pediatrics

Personal Biography:

Dr. Hoyle grew up in Winston-Salem.  She has two children in college.  Her son, Wyatt, is at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  Her daughter, Caroline, is at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  In her free time, Dr. Hoyle likes to read, play tennis, and travel. 

Special Interests:

Dr. Hoyle has a special interest in pediatric and adolescent mental health.  She has participated in supplemental training through the REACH Institute, an organization dedicated to ensuring that the most effective, scientifically proven mental health care reaches all children and families.
